Mortal Kombat is a franchise that’s been in a losing fight to stay relevant for years. After it shook up parents and moral guardians across the country in the early ’90s with its over-the-top violence and gory fatalities, the series began to lose its relevance after a string of mediocre-to-bad games and two horrible movies.

I have mad respect for martial artists. I’m a kung fu film junkie to the core. One of my goals in life is to learn a martial art, but as of yet my laziness and schoolwork have teamed up to keep me from learning how to bust some faces.

I also can’t stand the Twilight saga. At all. I won’t rag on it right now, but I can rant for hours about that insipid pile of crap. I’m pretty sure I’ve made fun of every actor/actress who ambled listlessly through the horrendous first movie, but now I may have to eat at least a few of those words.

How "Twilight" should have ended.

Oh, if only...

I’m not a fan of the Twilight “saga” for many reasons, among them the relationship between Bella and Edward. I’ve been saying all along that it’s an abusive relationship, that Edward treats Bella like utter crap, and Bella is a moron for staying with him. I’ve been told that I just don’t understand, that their love is different, blah blah blah.

I know, and have known, that I’m not the only one who has come to this realization, but I lacked concrete verification of my theory. Thanks to geek emporium io9 and an insightful LiveJournal writer, I have that verification. Hit the jump for a heaping dose of TRUTH.
